Examples of Warranty Exclusions

Tents & Shelters – Here are a few examples of what is not covered

  • Improper procedures in unpacking the new product. A knife should not be used to open the carton.
  • Any damage or problems arising from misuse, abuse, neglect or impact.
  • Damage due to improper storage of the tent including damage from moisture either of itself or in sand and soil left in the tent.
  • Damage to zips resulting from salt corrosion especially while the tent is stored
  • Damage due to improper erection of the tent including ANY failure to use ALL the guy ropes provided with the tent. Note especially that fiberglass tent poles must be fully inserted into the ferrules.  Failure to do this will result in splitting and breakage of the poles and may cause subsequent damage to the tent fabrics.
  • Pegs suitable to the conditions and location must be used with the tent.  The pegs supplied are satisfactory for firm but not hard ground. They are not suitable for extremely soft/sandy ground or for ground that is very hard.
  • Damage to the tent floor from hard or sharp objects either on the floor or underneath the tent.
  • Damage to any part of the tent due to sharp objects or other objects applying concentrated force on any part of the tent.
  • Damage due to abrasion
  • Damage to Air Pole tents due to over-inflation of the Air Poles.
  • Cosmetic or fabric damage from tree sap, bird droppings or excessive sun exposure.
  • Damage due to extreme weather or other natural phenomena such as fire or flood

Furniture - Here are a few examples of what is not covered

  • Improper procedures in unpacking the new product. A knife should not be used to open the carton.
  • Any damage or problems arising from misuse, abuse, neglect or impact.
  • Damage due to improper storage of the chair including damage from moisture either of itself or in sand and soil left on the chair.
  • Use of the product on uneven or soft ground that causes the weight distribution of the product to be uneven.
  • Cosmetic or fabric damage from neglect, tree sap, bird droppings or excessive sun exposure.
  • Effective weight loaded exceeding the specified weight limit for the product.

Gas Equipment - Here are a few examples of what is not covered

  • Improper procedures in unpacking the new product. A knife should not be used to open the carton.
  • Any damage or problems arising from misuse, abuse, neglect or impact.
  • Any damage caused by ANY alteration to the appliance
  • Failure to properly tighten and test fittings for gas leaks
  • Failure to turn the valve off at the gas source (Cylinder valve) when using a High/Medium pressure appliance when the appliance is not in use. If the source valve is not closed Gas may condense in the line and, under pressure, return to liquid form.  Liquid will be driven into the appliance when it is turned on. This will cause excessive flaring, and possible explosion, when the stove is lit.
  • Cosmetic damage such as rust caused by neglect or exposure to weather.
  • Jet blockage

  • Damage caused by overheating or other misuses
  • Any damage or problems arising from misuse, abuse, neglect or impact.

Tarpaulins and covers - Here are a few examples of what is not covered

  • Improper procedures in unpacking the new product. A knife should not be used to open the package.
  • Any damage or problems arising from misuse, abuse, neglect or impact.
  • Damage caused by failure to follow Outdoor Connection guidelines for erection and securing of the tarpaulin especially the use of EVERY D-Ring.

Air Beds and Self-Inflating Mats - Here are a few examples of what is not covered

  • Any damage or problems arising from misuse, abuse, neglect.
  • Damage due to sharp objects
  • Damage due to over-inflation
  • Damage due to abrasion

Sleeping Bags - Here are a few examples of what is not covered

  • Damage due to moisture in storage
  • Damage to zips and fabric caused by catching fabric in the zip
  • Cosmetic damage such as stains, dirt, scuffing
