G'day I'm Sandy from Outdoor Connection.Today I'm going to talk to you about the New Tanbar Air XL Tent.
This inflatable canvas tent is the big brother to a very popular Tanbar Air Tent.
It's an ideal tent for traveling because it's very quick and simple to go up. It'll fit a few adults or a young family or it's great just for a couple.
It's an ideal tent for traveling because it's very quick and simple to go up. It'll fit a few adults or a young family or it's great just for a couple.
It's got the space for a longer stay as well so you can pack your gear inside. As I said this is an air pole tent you can check out our website to find out more information about the construction of an air pole.
This tent has three main ribs that go all the way over the tent plus two ridge poles that give it stability lengthwise and they just pop in there like that it's a very stable and strong design.

The size of this tent is 3.8 meters long by 3 meters wide and 205 centimeters high now the design of the air pulse frame.
Plus the size of it gives you plenty of headroom throughout the tent as you can see I'm over six foot and I'm only just touching the roof of the tent here near the side that's pretty unusual for a dome tent. Even down the back where the roof slopes down a little bit I've still got plenty of headroom.
So this is a one room tent but with this clip in room divider you can make a two range quite easily.
Like all the tents that we designed at outdoor connection ventilation for the Australian conditions is one of our priorities. This tent is no different the front door has a very large mesh door and which also comes with a canvas cover when the conditions aren't so good.
The side windows basically go from the roof all the way down to the ground there's a large window on either side of the central pole plus a ventricular ventral flow panel on each side and it's exactly the same on the other side of the tent.
At the rear of the tent we have a very large window the cover on the outside has gussets on either side this allows the window cover to be left open a little during very bad weather and rain it still allows ventilation through the tent.
All the internal windows have their own privacy screens which allow you to zip up and regulate the amount of ventilation that comes into the tent.
The outside covers on the windows can be pegged out in an angle like this with a couple of extra guy ropes tied through these little loops at the bottom set up this way it gives you some privacy but it also allows the air to flow through and can also be left up in in lighter rain on the outside of the windows as well.
As the internal privacy screens you've got canvas covers that go down over both windows these can be rolled up like that to give you maximum ventilation or pegged out a bit at the side if you wish.
Like many of our tents the Tanbar Air itself features ventra flow panels these panels have windows inside and are covered by this outside cover that can be pegged out at an angle this can be left out in almost any weather and still gives you a cross flow of air down low where you're sleeping.
At the rear of the tent you've got a large window the window features these little side gussets that allows the air to flow through even in heavy rain.
Can also be unzipped to be rolled up completely or pegged out further to give even more air flowing through the tent.
In each corner there's one of these handy little gear pockets handy to store wallets keys your phone even a book or torch materials are the tent.
Mainly canvas so this is a 65/35 poly cotton canvas it's very strong it's 230 gsm so it's still lightweight and it's also waterproof.
The floor is made up of a pvc strong pvc material that gives you extra protection to the floor leaks and also damage to the floor.
The mesh is a better it's a stronger better quality than normal mesh that we use on tents so it's even stronger than before but still the holes are small enough to stop the smallest midges through.
One of the other features that we've used on this tent that is common to other Outdoor Connection Tents is a three pole awning the design of the tent is quite high at the wide at the shoulders and that allows you to give a full width awning and we supply three adjustable awning poles that allows you to set the tent up on an angle like this so the water runs off and gives you plenty of space inside.
One of the great optional extras for the Tanbar XL Tent are these awning side walls they velcro along the bottom edge of the front door flap and they can be by the peg direct to the ground or as i've got it set up here I prefer to have it pegged out at an angle that allows air to still flow through and gives you a bit more floor space.
One of the other ways you can set up the awning sidewalls is with a couple of extra awning poles and you can pick it out as an extended awning like this that gives you more area where you get protection from the sun still ventilated but obviously if it rains you're going to have to drop it down a bit to get some pitch but you can do that with the adjustable awning poles.
This little opening here is for your power cord so you can run power access either 12 volt or 240 into your tent and inside those little velcro tabs they'll take the cable up to the roof and then you can run your lights across the roof.
So this little pocket here just for your information covers your boston valve to that that you use to inflate the tent.
This high volume pump comes with the tent it allows you to pump the tent up very quickly just by quickly pushing up and down so the pump has this little valve here an air will start to escape you'll hear her escaping once you've reached 7 psi that's when to stop pumping.
Just remember it's only when you're actually pumping air in that you will hear the sound this is because the boston valve has a flap in there and stops the air coming back to it so that's the Tanbar Air XL Tent.

A strong and durable canvas tent that has an excellent structure to give internal space strength and stability the generous floor area is plenty for a couple a young family or even a few adults.
